CAN's mission is to improve the quality of life in Clay County by promoting honest, transparent, and accountable county government, which puts the interests of all citizens and communities before other considerations.

CAN's objectives are to:

  • Conduct research and share information to educate members on issues pertinent to improving Clay County government operations
  • Identify and develop positions on issues related to Clay County governance that warrant citizen involvement
  • Educate Clay County citizens on such issues
  • Promote constructive remedies to improve Clay County government operations through various actions:
    • Attendance and participation in community and government functions (Board of County Commissioners meetings, School Board meetings, etc)
    • Dissemination of information to the public (editorials, letters to the editor, presentations at public meetings, rallies, petition drives, etc)
    • Affiliation with organizations that share common interests with those of CAN.
